About Scholarship:

The German Government DAAD Scholarships provide international graduates from developing and newly industrialized nations with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate or Master’s degrees at state or state-recognized German universities, and in exceptional cases, to pursue doctoral degrees and obtain a master’s or doctoral degree in Germany. The scholarships are available in all disciplines and require at least two years of professional experience.

German Government DAAD Scholarship Benefits:

  • Monthly payments for graduates (934 euros) or doctoral candidates (1,200 euros)-
  • Health, accident, and personal liability insurance payments.
  • Travel allowance unless covered by home country or other funding source.

Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Worked for public authority, state, or private company in a developing country.
  • Planned and executed development policies affecting technological, economic, or social areas.
  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject.
  • Completed an academic degree with above average results and at least two years of related professional experience.
  • Academic degrees should be no more than six years old.
  • Residents in Germany for more than 15 months at application deadline not considered.

2024 German Government DAAD Scholarship Application Documents:

  • Completed and signed checklist.
  • DAAD application “Application for a research/study scholarship.”
  • Curriculum vitae in reverse chronological order.
  • Letter of Motivation detailing academic, professional, and personal reasons.
  • Certificates of employment from employers showing at least two years of relevant work experience.
  • Recent proof of Language Skills: English – IELTS or TOEFL.
  • German – required for courses taught in German.
  • Copy of higher education degree certificates.
  • Full set of transcript of records.
  • APS Certificate required for applicants from the People’s Republic of China.
