Mauritius Government Scholarship| How To Apply
Mauritius Government is awarding fully funded scholarships to exceptional students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union. The Mauritius government scholarship covers tuition and living costs for students studying in Mauritius. Moreover, it covers airfare.
Applications for the Scholarships are to be made to the Nominating Agency in the applicant’s country of origin and is NOT to be sent directly to Mauritius by the applicant.
The Nominating Agency, which is typically part of Ministry of Education, will select and nominate up to five (5) candidates for undergraduate programmes. Indicating clearly the level of studies for each nominated candidate.
The Nominating Agency or the Ministry of Education in the candidate’s home country will forward the application forms to the Mauritius Government.

Eligibility Requirements for Mauritius Government Scholarship:
- Undergraduate applicants should be above 18 years of age and should not have reached their 26th birthday by 01 January 2025.
- Applicants must have applied to a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius for a full-time on-campus program (Diploma, Degree, MPhil or PhD) starting in 2024, as listed in the appropriate Guidelines for Applicants.
- For PhD programmes, applicants should not have reached 40 years by 01 January 2025.
- The scholarship will be for a maximum duration as indicated in the table below or the minimum course duration whichever is lesser.
Benefits of the Mauritius Government Scholarship:
The Mauritius Government Scholarship will assist successful candidates with their tuition fees and living expenses while studying in Mauritius.
Additionally, the scholarship includes a return airfare via the most economical route. This scholarship includes travel from and to the home country, at the start and end of studies respectively.
Required Documents for Mauritius Government Scholarship:
- It is recommended that applicants complete the form online before printing it.
- The Nominating Agency, which manages scholarships for the applicant’s home country, must submit applications for this Scheme.
- The Nominating Agency, which may typically be part of the Ministry of Education in the country of the applicant, will shortlist and endorse the applications of a maximum of FIFTEEN (15) eligible candidates (five in each category of Undergraduate, Masters and MPhil/PhD) and submit the duly completed application forms as per the table below:
- Candidates must complete and endorse the official application form, which the Nominating Agency in the applicant’s home country must fill out.
