Commonwealth Postgraduate Scholarship 2024
About Scholarship:
The Commonwealth PhD scholarship 2024 is open to applicants from high-income nations who wish to undertake a funded full-time doctoral study at UK universities. These scholarships will support UK higher education and research by drawing highly qualified international candidates. Therefore, fostering connections and collaboration. They also aim to improve individual teaching and research capacity, which will increase institutional capacity in academic and other sectors in Commonwealth countries.
Participating Countries:
Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Canada, Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Malta, New Zealand, Seychelles, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda, Brunei Darussalam, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, St Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos Islands.
Scholarship Benefits:
The scholarship will cover tuition, bursary, bench fees, research training and travel.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirement:
- Must be a citizen or refugee in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Must be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country for two years prior to application submission.
- Must not have started a PhD or MPhil at a UK University prior to the scholarship start date.
- Must hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Must not have commenced or been registered for a PhD or MPhil in their home country or elsewhere.
- Must hold an unconditional or conditional offer on finance for the 2023 UK academic year from all UK universities.
- Must provide references from at least two individuals and a supporting statement from a proposed supervisor from at least one UK university.
Application Process:
- Applicants apply for their desired PhD at King’s College London through the King’s Apply online application system.
- Apply to the CSC using the CSC’s online application system.
- CSC cannot accept applications or documentation not submitted via the online system.
- Complete applications early due to busy online system.
- Expect outcome by July 2024.
- Applicants should monitor email folders and respond within specified timeframes.
