Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship
Overview:
The Australian Government Research Training Program Stipends are available to highly ranked research students who exhibit exceptional academic success and research potential. The program is funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Education and Training. This scholarship, which helps with living expenses overall, is valued at the aforementioned annual amount.

Scholarship Benefits:
The annual living allowance is $37,000 and is not subject to taxes.
Scholarship Eligibility:
- Student must be pursuing a higher degree by research at UTS in the year of the RTP Stipend.
- No equivalent award, stipend, or salary providing benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship stipend rate is eligible.
- Income from unrelated sources isn’t subject to the 75% rule.
- Completed application, including supporting documentation, must be submitted by the deadline.
Selection Process:
Students who meet the eligibility requirements will have their application assessed on a competitive basis using a scoring system based on:
- Academic merit of the applicant.
- Research and other relevant experience of the applicant.
- Publications record of the applicant.
- Relevance of the proposed research to the University’s research strengths.
