Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Scholarship UK

The University of Birmingham’s School of Computer Science is pleased to announce two scholarships, kindly provided by DeepMind, that are available to candidates who currently have an unconditional or conditional offer for the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program at our UK Edgbaston campus.

AI and Machine Learning Scholarship Category:

Master Scholarship.

AI and Machine Learning Scholarship Benefits:

Two scholarships are now offered: one is for the UK and the other is international.

The available UK scholarship is worth £34,225. The scholarship’s worth is measured against:

  • Tuition fee £11,340.
  • £18,985 in maintenance grant, payable in instalments during the course of the study, to cover living expenses
  • up to £2,200 in funding to attend a global conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning while enrolled in the course
  • £1,700 will go toward buying necessary supplies (like a good laptop).

The amount for international scholarship is £56,525. The scholarship’s worth is measured against:

  • £31,410 for tuition fees abroad.
  • £19,345 in maintenance stipend to cover living expenses, to be paid in instalments over the course.
  • Up to £2,200 in funding is available for attending an international conference on artificial intelligence (AI) and/or machine learning throughout the course, in addition to £1,700 for the purchase of necessary supplies (such as a laptop).
  • £1,870 to help cover moving costs.

AI and Machine Learning Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must be a Female.
  • Be prepared to provide proof, if needed, that they would need financial aid in order to accept the admissions offer.
  • Candidate must have previously been offered a spot in the University of Birmingham’s MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program, either unconditionally or conditionally.
  • Either be categorized as an international student for fee-paying purposes OR be an ordinary resident of the UK and be considered a UK for fee-paying purposes.
  • A selection panel at the School of Computer Science will review applications and shortlist candidates based on the aforementioned eligibility categories, as well as any further supporting documents and evidence (if needed).
  • Until all academic offer conditions are satisfied, such as submitting satisfactory academic results and meeting other requirements, the DeepMind scholarship offer may be considered “conditional.”Please be aware that there might be a matching deadline for meeting the requirements for academic credit.

How To Apply:

Procedure and deadline for international applicants:

  • Only those with an offer to enrol in the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program may submit an application.
  • In May 2024, the application procedure will open.
  • You will receive an email with a direct application link to apply for the DeepMind scholarship as soon as you have been extended an offer by our central admissions office.(If you currently have an offer, this email will also be sent to you when the application period opens.)
  • The last day to submit a scholarship application is Sunday, July 21, 2024.
  • By the end of July 2024, applications will be shortlisted, and qualified applicants will be called for interviews. Offer holders will receive direct access to additional information on the procedure.

Application deadlines and procedures for UK applicants:

  • Only MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offer holders may submit an application.
  • May 2024 will see the start of the application procedure.
  • To apply for the DeepMind scholarship, you will receive an email with a direct application link after receiving an offer from our central admissions office. When applications open, you will also receive this email if you currently have an offer.
  • The last day to apply for a scholarship is Sunday, August 18, 2024.
  • By August 2024, a shortlist of applications will be created, and qualified applicants will be approached for an interview. Offer holders will receive further details about the procedure straight from us.
